I inherited a 6XA transmitter. I downloaded the manual to learn how to program it. First, it seems to work OK -- sticks move appropriate servos. Trims works, etc.
To enter programming mode, the instructions say to power up, and then hold down both MODE buttons. After that, press the MODE Down button to scroll thru the menu choices. When both buttons are pressed, all it does is toggle from TREV to ATV, and no other buttons work (+ or -), or cause changes. I cannot get to settings like servo reversal, etc.
Upon furhter tries, I found out that pressing either MODE button causes the above, it does not require holding both down.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Lee

Hi lrr,
Once you press both Mode keys, the manual tells you to then press the DOWN MODE key until the "MODL" appears. This means that you need to use just one key to scroll through the menu options, you can use either the Down or Up key, this is your preference.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Krysta,
Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't describe the problem exactly (or it is doing something slightly different today). Pushing both MODE keys, or pushing either one, causes the standard display (with battery level) to toggle the display to the ATV screen. But, pushing the DOWN key returns display to the startup screen. All I can do is get the display to toggle between these two screens.
I am sure the transmitter has a real problem. Will try to decide if it is worth pursuing getting it repaired.
Thanks,
Lee

Hi Lee,
I am sorry if I misunderstood you, if you are not able to use the Up or Down mode keys to toggle through the different menus, then this needs to be sent into us if you decide to do this. You can check out our flat rate fees and print out a "return for service" form at our site on:
http://www.futaba-rc.com/service.html
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
