Default servo eyelets

do the eyelets go on the top of the servo against the head of the screw or on the bottom against the frame of the plane?

Hi sherm172k,

To mount your servos, you will need to slide the rubber grommet (whether the small two piece ones, or the rectangular double ones) over the mounting lugs on your servo.

Next you will slide the brass eyelet through the rubber grommet downward with the top of the eyelet up and use the included screws to mount this to either the servo mount that is included with your radio, or one that is made as you build your plane.

I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.

Sincerely,
Krysta

Sorry Krysta but this is incorrect or I missunderstood your answer. The large flat portion of the brass eyelet goes down against the frame. The washer on the servo screw and the large area on the brass eyelet make a sandwich of the rubber. This isolates the servo from vibration.

Also sorry Krysta, but according to the installation drawing in the Futaba manual attached, the eyelet is inserted from below.

Other manuals have similar diagrams.

Hi Guys,

Please forgive me, I am afraid I can't be right 100% of the time. I will double check myself before I answer the next time.

Krysta, Sorry if I offended. I would have sent you a PM but I didn't see where I could PM you.
I think you do a great job and most of the time with out a thank you.

Thank You,

David

Krysta, I have always mounted the grommet from the bottum up so that when the screw is toghtened, it will only compress the rubber so far, and therefore provide some rubberized isolation against vibration, The head of the grommet being down also acts as a washer against thr mounting platform. The straight end would only cut into the wood if mounted down.

If you "click" on her name over on the left side, her profile will come up. On that page there is a spot where you could have selected to send a PM.

HI David,

That was so sweet of you, you did not offend me at all.

I blew it on this one, and I am sure I will do so again at some time....LOL, so I beg all of you to bear with me, I am I'm afraid only human.

There were quite a few postings after my mistake, pointing out the "error" that I had made, I did delete all of them but one, as I didn't see any point to them as they were just repetitive. One was sufficient for me to post an apology to.

As I am only on RCU when opportunity allows, most times it is easier to contact me or another support person at [email protected] or [email protected].

Again, no offense taken at all.

You are all a great bunch of people and I am always happy to try to help you out whenever I can, Krysta
