9252 Servo chatter
These are my first digital servos. I have four of them and a 9151 in a 22% Yak. The response and speed on the servos are great. I have one however that wiggles at center. I have seen digitals do this before and the owners just touch the surface and it stops. Mine react the same way on the ground. In the air however I can see that ELEV half chattering around center. Once it moves more than 1/2" or I build up some air speed it stops. I am concerned this is going to cost me a plane.
Is this something covered by warranty? If it's normal fine. If not I would like to send it in for service or replacement. It is 6 months old but only has 10 flights on it.
Thank You,
David

RE: 9252 Servo chatter
Hi David,
This is a common and harmless occurrence, and indicates that your servo is "checking" itself for true center. There will many times be an audible "buzz" from their servos, even when there is no noticeable movement. And this is also harmless, as when the plane is airborne, the wind over the control surfaces, and thus load on the servo itself, will correct this small amount of vibration and noise.
If you feel this is chattering more than it should or load on the servo does not correct this, we would suggest you send this in to be checked.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
