i currently fly a 6exas and i'm about to take the plunge into a 9ch super as i figure i'll be in the hobby for a while. my question is this.
when i get my 9ch will the digital trims need to match the setups that are in my 6ex now? or will each plane need to be setup from scratch and retrimmed?

I recently did the same upgrade. I was able to transfer everything fine, including my trims. Just make sure you doule check everything after the transfer like you were going to maiden the plane again (after all, its a maiden flight for your transmitter) and you should be good to go. The hard part is getting enough planes and helis to fill up your memory [8D].

The only time you can transfer settings from one Futaba radio to another is with a Campac chip. i.e. from one 9c to another. Otherwise, you should zero out all control surfaces on each plane with the new radio and fly them to reset trims. Good luck.
