Hi!
Today I had a split elevator glitch on my Funtana X100.
My setup includes a R168DP RX brand new Channel 24. 5 3305's brand new (2 aileron and 2 elevator and one rudder). NOBS 1950 Nimh on two switches and a hs81 Throttle servo. The transmitter is a T8UAF with a synth module set to 24.
Now this setup has 9 flights and has behaved pretty well. Today I put in my first flight of 12 minutes brought it in to check it over and refill. Once on the starting stand I fired up the engine and ran it up to full power to tweak the high end needle when the planes tail pitched up.. This caused the prop to hit the starting table deck and chew off about 1/2 inch off each tip without stalling the engine. (Scratch one Xoar 17 x 6 prop.) I got the tail back down with my free hand then cut the engine to idle and then shut it down to check for damage. Well after seeing the prop was wasted I change to a fresh backup. During the recheck I discovered that my Left elevator half was not moving in sequence with the right. The right one appeared to be responding correctly. I switched rates and it still did it. It also appeared to be bouncing and missing its end points.
So I shut down everything and restarted and the same thing happened... So I packed up and went home... I showed the problem to a neighbor same thing happened...
Now the fun part... (I know this is getting to be a long post.) :-)
I unplugged the elevator servo extensions from Channel 2 and 8 to check them seperately and suddenly the left half on channel two is working nornally again. I moved the Servo that was on Channel 8 over to Channel 2 and it is working correctly... Put everthing back the way it was and restarted and now all is well...
Now do I trust this? Do I check something else? I have another 8AUF Super I'm going to test it with are the servo's the problem???
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks,

Bax,
Thanks for the feedback.
I just retested the plane at the field with a different transmitter with a fixed module on a different Freq. The same problem occured with the same servo on channel 8. Strange as it sounds while checking it at home just moments ago when I unplugged channel 2 the Servo on Channel 8 started working correctly again... Now all of the extensions, servos and RX are brand new, only weeks old... Also I'm running a pair of 3305's to drive the ailerons on the same plane on Channel 1 and 7 and they haven't done this... So I'm going to yank the Servos and extensions and try again...
Is there any way to exchange these for another servo... Hell at this point I would pay the difference for a different servos than risk the entire plane.
Thanks,

I had almost the same problem with a 9c on a 1/4 patty from world models. I tried four different brand of servos and extensions, moved the receiver and batteries, pluging into 2 and 8 reassigning 8 to another Chanel, using a y with a servo reverse, match box no match box, and every thing else that i could think of. The final solution for me was to shield each of the wires from the servos to a match box. ( I just used the plastic wire casing from an auto part store and wrapped a small copper wire around the out side of the plastic case and glued to one of the wood formers, the copper might or might not help against interference all I know is that it fixed my problem.)

Hippy,
I don't know what happened to your post... But just as an update. I did fix the glitch by replacing the 3305's with HS5625's. After examing the the 3305's I discovered that the slow / weird servo had a nick in the sheathing of the ground wire.
I not sure if that cause the problem but I do intend on replacing the lead and retesting the servos at a later date...
Good Luck,
Hibrass
