JR and Airtronics have a neat throttle kill button/switch, that allows you to kill the motor without messing up the long sought for sweet spot on the idle trim lever. Can I accomplish that with my 6XAS Tx? For example, I do not use retracts except for one of my planes. The others could utilize that switch as a throttle kill. Or if that cannot be done with a mix or whatever, will Futaba be incorporating this very nice feature on new radios? Juast as an additional note, Airtronics also has neat timers built in as well, in their computer radio that competes with the 6XAS series. Will Futaba catch up with these things soon?
Thanks

My Futaba 8U and 9C radios already have this feature. Its called "throttle cut" and can be assigned to the trainer switch. Might be able to assign it to other switches but that one is very handy and momentary.

You can do it with a mix with an offset. THe switch on will give you a fast idle, then adjust the endpoint to where you want it. With the switch off, you drop low enough that the engine dies.

It has been several years since I have had a 6XA's
I am looking at the manual and see that on page 37 it shows you have to program the two PMix's. THe 6X does not have offset capability. I know the 8U and 9C does.
I am not seeing how it can be done with a 6XA's

Hi Capt Jim,
Unfortunately the 6X series radios do not offer "Offset" mixing. You will definitely need to go up to an 8U or 9C for this function.
