Default Open letter to Xu Liang (RC EXL) ignitions

Thank you, Mr Xu Liang...
I have been trying to retire for most of the year....I was buying RC EXL ignitions so as long as ignitions were available I just kept buying more...In the last six or seven weeks I have tried to order a small quantity of igintions just to keep my hand in the business, but since you chose not to reply to my E mails I am now officially out of RC EXL ignitions, and will not try to buy any more....
I have just enough here to finish off the 10 or 12 engines in the queue, then it's SAYONARA forever..
Thanks again, it took your refusal to get me over the hump.....

I have been wondering what is going on with them. Someone said something about health problems that may have come back and then someone else said something about a Chinese holiday. It is like he disappeared off the face of the earth. Even Milton cannot get stock right now by the sounds of it.....

Think this through. CH is closed. Who was their competition? People are going to start running out of ignitions soon. Now connect the dots. You may not like what you see.

No Competition?

Might be a good time for a new player to step up to the plate if the money is there?

Who's willing to pay more than $50 a pop for an ignition? And who's willing to play the game for less?

I know the knowledge is out there somewhere, not sure about the desire though, with some retailers selling the Rcexl single cyl. ignition for $50-$60 there is no way a North American company could be competitive and break even doing it at the volume levels the hobby industry uses.

Not sure what's going on for you guys but I've had no problem corresponding or getting product from Xu Liang at Rcexl, received an order last week. Hope it gets worked out for you though.

Bill at CH has come back before from a bout with bad health in the past. Maybe this will be more of an incentive for a speedy recovery and resurrection of the business. It is something we can all hope for. Dan.

If I was his age, worked as long as he has, and just gone through what he did, I sure would not start back up again. Time to use what's left for living.

then it's SAYONARA forever..
Mei "Sayonara" - dang ran "Ci Chien"

I wonder if it is a case of their own culture catching up with them. There have been copies springing up all over the place in the last year or so, then the Kingsparks appeared then others.

Thank goodness for European engines - they still make theirs
(I think there is an aussie made one used somewhere too - can't remember which it is though)

Two girls in College.... I have to wait for my Income tax check. I really want to buy one of Ralphs G62s so I hope he stays around for a while longer.
However if he wants to hang it up after all these years I totally understand.

If he makes one for you I can say that you will love it. Mine is great. I have only bench run it so far to try a couple of props and set the needles, but I can say this is one sweet smooth running engine.

Ralph builds wickedly light and effiecient engines, no question. But he likes the drama and praise these types of pronouncements generate.

Email is not bullet proof. Sounds like the problem was not on the RC-Xel end.

That is all well and good but doesn't mean the recipient is at fault.

I have a long time customer who telephoned recently to determine if I still made decals as he had sent several email messages with no reply. I never received them.

We both checked our personal spam filters, virus checker, blocked list, etc.....nothing. Checked with our internet providers which had no record of blocked or deleted messages on either end. His personal and business email would not get to me. Finally set up a free email account and it worked fine.

No one, even the geeks I know could explain it. It just happens.

Next time put a stamp on an envelope or pick up the telephone if no response. Give the guy a break...email is not perfect

Maybe rcexl should have another easy/cheap way for people to contact them, so if whatever is going on with their present setup continues people like Mr. Cunningham can use the alternate way. There are a number of free e-mail services, or they could have some kind of presence here - maybe show up a little more often in these forums? Or have a support forum in the gas engine area? Or some other way?

Seems to me that the burden is on them to give their customers easy ways to communicate with them, not the other way around.

Take a look at post #12.

There are six methods of contact posted.

If that isn't enough then a person attempting contact with them is lazy.
