Sachs Dolmer 53 cc engine. Not sure who did the conversion but looks a bit like the ones Bennett sold though most of his had a single prop bolt. Has the Bennett muffler on it. Good engine though not as common as the 3.2 ci / 52 cc engine.

I always liked the Laser 200 airplane. I did know a guy from Grand Rapids Mi that could really put on a good air show with one. Pete S. was his name!

It could be a Brija converted Sachs 4.2. I think Dick Bennett did sell them.

Not a 4.2 because of the 45mm bore shown on the cylinder. I believe the 4.2 has a 49 mm bore.

Thanks, for the info, truckracer. I couldn't remember which number it was, figured somone would set me straight. If it is 45, it's a 3.7 and will never turn a 24X10 in the range it should, maybe a 22X10 would be more to it's liking. Actually, any engine that doesn't run in the 7,000 rpm range isn't propped in it's power range, that's my opinion.

As Truckracer said it is only 53 cc. It is not a 3.7 it is a 3.2

More of a 22 X 8 and maybe a 22 X 10 engine.

Not a Brija (that would be me) conversion. Very similar but yet several differences. I always painted the engine case after trimming, carb linkage was mounted directly on the crankcase, all crankcases were tapped for smoke, all flywheels had the fins removed, ignition did not have a ground wire, backplate was thinner and releived for the spring starter which they all had and I never built anything but a 4.2. As a side note to the new owner, I doubt there is any normal living human being with an arm big enough to hand start that engine/ignition combination and the reason all of mine had spring starters. That one will require an electric starter.

How you doin' my friend! Didn't make it to the fly-in this year, had too many irons in the fire, and no airplane to fly anyway. I didn't know what kind of mods you had incorported into your engines. I thing Bob was using them in the Tigercat?

Send me an e-mail, I'd like to talk to you.
