Default G-62 weight?

What does a Zenoah G-62 on electronic ignition weigh, ready to fly with prop hub, muffler, mount, etc. but without the ignition system itself??

Thanks,
AV8TOR

Default RE: G-62 weight?

Mine weighs 4 lbs - 15 oz

It has the CH ignition but this weight is not with the ignition unit.

The CH ignition uses the Zenoah coil and mine has a Bosch shielded plug cap and shielded pilug wire all the way back to the coil per the Toni Clark suggestion.

Mine has the Zenoah flat steel mounting plate

An aluminum Spehar muffler

and the current Zenoah straight pull carb mount

no prop

Ok, thanks W8YE. I am thinking about putting together my 29% Wild Hare Extra. Though it is a "50cc" airplane, the instructions say it is ok with the weight of a G-62. I was thinking about putting my recently finished homemade 50cc twin on it. It only weighs 4 lbs. 6 oz. equipped the same as the G-62, so it looks like it is a "go"!

I have a G-62 here, but haven't converted it yet...

Thanks again,
AV8TOR

I've got the same plane with an RCIgnitions G-62 in it. Engine weighs 4#11oz all up, no prop. Had to put the elevator servos in the tail (there are mounts for them already installed). Also had to move my batteries back behind the wing tube a few inches. Flies great.

The Red Max chainsaw engines have a smaller diameter front crank half..The cases are magnesium alloy...The cylinder and piston are the only oarts shared with the airplane G62.....One of these SHOULD be a few ounces lighter and will run exactly same as the airplane G62,,,,
I have one here to convert, will check it out for weight...
The Green Machine 62cc chainsaw is exactly the same as the Red Max saw...

The G-62 I have is from a backpack leaf blower.

I think you are right about that Ralph. I have some Echo 30 to 50cc engines from chain saws that I think are going to come out really light. It is more work to convert them, but it might be worth it.
