Default us engine 41 electronic ignition conv.

the ignition coil fell off my us engines 41. Can I convert it to electronic ignition ecomonically or is it trash? I have a G38, would it be a good replacement, flying an old sweet and low with it. Thank you for your input.

The G38 has close to the same power as the US 41

I think the G38 would be a good replacement. For what it might cost to convert the US41, I'd likely just replace it.

And there is an electronic conversion kit available for the G38 that is inexpensive and take about 30 minutes to install.

TVTECH,

I had the same experience with a very low-time US41. The mounting bosses just parted ways with the engine case (no crash damage). I hated to trash a green engine, so I got an electronic conversion (CH) and have been very please with the engine since. If you can find a conversion kit, it is worth the expense.

Have fun!
