Default G20EI DOH !!!!

i was flying my ultra stick lite the other day and the engine quit. i brought it down and felt the motor has barely any compression and it just didn't feel right.
i took it apart and ..........
there was a piece of wire or part of a spring or something in there. *** ???
how could that possibly have gotten in there while in flight?
anyway, it wreaked havoc on my piston, ring and cylinder.
i'm still scratching my head on this one. how the ???? what the ????

Did you have helical in the head I can't see tread marks on the cylinder?

Wow, it sure did some damage. It almost looks like a carb arm return spring.

i did not have a helicoil in there.
i bought the plane used as it is. i've flown it before without any issues. i probably have 5 flights on it.
it kinda looks like it could be a spring of some sort. but how would it have gotten in the cylinder? and why not the last time i flew it? the carb arm still has some spring action on it so not sure if that was it. i did remove the choke arm/butterfly but i don't recall that having any spring on it. and again, it would have sucked it up the last time i flew it.
i just don't get it. oh well, what's done is done.
i ordered a new cylinder, piston, and ring from daves motor.

Nope, it's only about 5/16 long and thicker than the one shown...can't get out of the small hole it's in....

The spring is small and sometimes sticks in the hole...
