Jim L, I love your graphic's. Keep up the good work!

And as for friction in this thread, put some oil on it. LOL

I use Pennzoil Aircooled 2 stroke oil without any problems and local advance and O'reillys carry it.

For what it's worth, I have been using Amsoil, Saber Professional 100:1 pre mix, It's been very good for me and you only need half the amount. Joe M

No worries.

The answer is any good quality oil (such as Red Line and others) will work if used in the proper mixture.
Eggactly!

The search link I posted should keep anyone looking for such info, busy for a while.

Some listed in previous oil threads are;

Stihl HP Ultra +++++
Royal Purple+++++
bel ray H1R++++
AMSOIL[:@]
Lawnboy[:'(]
bacon grease[sm=confused.gif]
baby oil[sm=bananahead.gif]
etc., etc., etc.

Just follow this and don't bother reading anything else. It's all you need to know. I'd add Redline Racing & Pennzoil Aircooled to the list of ++++++ as well. I personally use Stihl Ultra at 32:1 or 40:1 depending on the engine.

Nobody likes to mention it, but Klotz has been making high quality synthetic oils for years. I used to run Techni-Plate at 40:1 in my gassers when I was mixing Nitro Fuel because I had it. Worked great! Now I'm running Klotz R50 at 40:1. I get some nice clear oil residue on the bottom of plane. I could probably go to 50:1 but DLE says to run higher. 3W says lower is OK, but I want one mix for everything. I ran a Brison 3.2 for 8 years on these oils without lube problems. No idea how many gallons of gas that was, but it was easily over 50.

I go out flying and "old timers" will comment on the exhaust smell. Klotz has a distinct odor. R50 does not have castor oil, so I'm guessing Klotz adds an Trademark odor.

Here is something else to put in the mix. Has any of you guys used Coleman fuel ? It is clean but I do not know what octane it is and how it would mix with the any of the oils talked about here. I myself use RedLine and have good results with it. Now, here comes the coments LOL

I've had GREAT success with Stihl Ultra. It's an inexpensive synthetic oil that does great with these engines.

Pennzoil for aircooled here.

Nothing wrong with Coleman fuel or white gas, certainly smells less.

Had a DLE 30cc and the instructions they send with that engine are only a couple of pages long. When you go to Tower Hobbies their manual is 30? pages long. Found a recommendation for oil in their manual, they said use synthetic oil. Called a Dle rep at Tower to find out what type of synthetic oil DLE recommended. He stated that they(he) did not recommend using synthetic oil, instead he said to use Lawn Boy ashless Gen II oil, and then after a couple of gallons of this mix, go to Amsoil. So you might call DLE service center 1(217)-398-8970, and see what they say, good luck, Bob.

Get down to your nearest motorcycle spares shop and ask for the best 2 stroke mineral or synthetic they keep in stock. Buy that and mix it in according to the engine manufacturers recommendation
Go fly.

If the oil says 100:1 the chances are your engine won't be lasting very long

New to Gas; have a DLE55 in a Warbird that is just about finished and will be running the engine shortly; I suspect I'll get a bunch of suggestions; but what Oil are you using to mix with your gas and any particular reason why?
YO SEARCH THE FORUMS OR JUST PICK ANY ONE , READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, THEY ALL WORK WELL IF YOU FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATIONS!!!

I have heard of a few guys using Coleman fuel. It is missing the normal gasoline additives, some of which are octane boosters. I have no idea on the long term ramifications but you will take an octane hit for sure. Depending on who you believe the octane rating is between 55 and 70. Regular gasoline is about 87. It does seem to burn cleaner and the smell is less offensive but it is also 2 or 3 times the price.(Still cheaper than Glow Fuel) To each his own!

I use the sef fuel Small Engine Fuel.. It contains no ethonal.. It comes pre mixed 40:1 50:1.. Look into it guys.. I gained almost another 1000 rpm on average in all of my gassers.. It is almost 6 bucks per Qt but the case 6 per case is like 25 bucks at my cousins shop.. If you need more info 301- 271- 2196.. He can tell you where to get it..

I'm afraid I don't understand the ''friction''. If you believe the question has been done to death what compulsion has you reading it? If you believe the member is missing out on the vast resource of previous posts, a nudge through a PM might save the embarassment of being ridiculed on his own thread! It amazes me that some people will spend more time and effort composing a vitriolic rebuke than it would have taken to simply answer (or ignore) the question in the first place.
" vitriolic rebuke " you don't hear that one every day.

I have been using the Bel Rey H1R oil for several years. I have a DL 50, DLE 30 DLE 20, Zenoah G38 and I run the same mix in all of them. I mix it to 32-1. The H1R oil has gone way up in price at around $22 buck a quart, so I am looking to find the Stihl oil locally. What does it generally cost for a quart? The Bel Rey oil works very well it seems.

True fuel That's the stuff!! I have 6 cans now 40:1.. Man I also think it smells good to! Try it I bet youll be hooked for life..And it last longer So you get longer flights too. I bet anyone to try two of the same planes hovering side by side. Same plane and engine combo. Rite down to the weight.. I bet the true fuel pulls out faster.. Don't hold me to it but I have seen it perform!!! I may be wrong but I think it gives my 45 gx2 the power of a da 50..What I just said that ?? Sorry Da guys! Sad but true!!
