_ different cowl
_ stab and elevator were airfoiled
_ hinges were the pin type
_ fuselage internal structure is different
_ had dual control horns on all surfaces
_ aluminum push rods with wrenching flats
_ one-piece landing gear
_used bolts to secure wings to fuselage
_ no pull-pull elevator
NOTE: The differences listed above are based on pictures in the original manual and those in the manual currently provided on the NitroPlanes web site.
There may be other differences that I haven't noticed. In spite of those differences the new 69" YAK seems like a good buy.
After the original 69" YAK was sold out, NitroPlanes introduced another so-called 69" YAK but it turned out to be larger than 69 inches.
My YAK is 69" and weighs 8.6 pounds with a YS 1.10.

I paid for my Yak 54 $156 with shipping, now they are selling it for $149.99. Construction is pretty sturdy and it's not really bad for it's price. I hope it would last longer.
