Every time I go to service my ad(s) in the market place, or attempt to contact RCU directly, the page either freezes up or my anti-virus says "a serious threat has been detected."

I have had several friends and prospective customers say the same thing.

How can we solve this problem?????

I use AVG antivirus software and am getting the same problem. It says a serious threat has been detected.

Get rid of AVG! and use something else? I don't have any trouble. I have some scripts blocked like viglink and ibpxl

AVG has been pretty good to me i use avaast now...you sure julian assange ain't on your team??

I was reading in the Clubhouse forum and that is the conclusion they came to... was to use something besides AVG.

probably because the engine forum is the place he considers home

I also have all the ads blocked and have never had any problem even in the various parts of the market place or looking at members dossiers

I block scripts which are not needed to view the site and I use Adblock Plus.

I use Ubuntu and Firefox with no virus scanners. Luckily, I have not had a virus since 2006 when I left Microsoft Windows.

At home my PC doesn't see any problems per se with the marketplace. But at work it is blocked and classified as a malicious website for malware, spam, etc.
So it may be on someone's black-list somewhere.

Any virus warningis more important...warnings take top prority.

ANY VIRUS WARNINGS ARE MORE IMPORTANT.... WARNINGS TAKE TOP PRIORITY

I tried all the possible conventional means to contact RCU about the problem, and every time I did, I got the virus message and usually my browser froze up as well. Yes, I use AVG and have been very happy with it. It has safely protected several of my and my family's computers for years. It says it is a serious virus that they have in their database. Even more frustrating is that it usually freezes up my browser and I can't do anything; edit my ad, answer questions, etc. After trying for several days to contact RCU, out of desperation I posted in this and the "Engine Conversions" forums. And yes, I consider "Gas Engines" and "Conversion Engines" to by my "Home" on RCU.

Hope they get it fixed soon. I need to sell a few engines!

John of the marketplace has been on vacation for a couple weeks and should be back - day after tomorrow.

See if you can PM him your problem ahead of time?

Why should I change my Anti virus protection program because of one site, that make no sense at all. When an anti virus program says that there is a problem as a rule there usually is one. This thread has some very good info on the situation, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11...m.htm#11206343
