I just got my BME 50 today and I see that it mounts like a glow style engine. Im mounting it on a GP Giles 202 and didnt know if there was a certain motor mount I should use, or make one (I run a CMM and could measure one out and make it). Not sure if the motor mount that came with the plane would work or not B/C it was used on another project. Any answers?

Ok, BME said they use a Hangar 9 #2033 motor mount. I've looked at Horizon, but I coulnt find it, or they dont offer it. I've looked really hard and cant find one online, so does anyone have it and can give me some spec's on it or direct me to where they sell them.[:@]

I searched Dons Hobby shop and couldnt find it. Any one got a link? I really thought I would be flying this weekend, but trying to find this #2033 Hangar 9 motor mount looks like it will be the hang up. What a *****, B/C of a small dollar part[:@][:@][:@][:@]
Why is it so hard to find?

I have 2 of them and could sell you one. Both are BRAND NEW. When I put my 50 on my H9 1.20 size CAP, I wanted to reduce weight ANYWHERE I COULD. So I ended up machining one from 2024 Aluminum. The one I machined is really light and is extremely adjustable so it is easy to get the engine mounted RIGHT WHERE YOU WANT IT.
BUT THAT ONE IS NOT FOR SALE

I used two pieces of 7/8 dowel (squared up a little) for a motor mount on my giant su-do-khoi. The dowels go thru 2 plywood bulkheads. Kind of like a giant u-control model. Bruce

I sure wish I would have known this was how it mounted last week when I ordered it, that way I could have had one already. I had my heart set on flying this weekend.

Problem solved. A guy at my field had a Hangar 9 Edge (that met an untimely death.....up being down and down being up..another story) that he put a gas engine on and never used the mounts so I got them yesterday.

Instead of opening a whole new thread, I did a search, got some info and need more. I luv RCU.
The Hanger 9 motor mount looks like a brick. Tower has a fiber mount. Anyone tried it?
Is there anything other than the H9 mount?
Maybe something new in the past year since this thread was last seen.
Thanks.
