Mikola, I think that video might be more appreciated in the conversions forum.

Pics look great tyor. One thing about the snow, it contrasts the colours brilliantly! So how did the NGH38 cope? Did it pull the airframe around the skies with authority?

The NGH38 was perfect for this airframe. Good power on takeoff. ok speed. And the cg was fine with no lead in front. I have no problem to recomend this combo.
This plane is like a trainer to fly. And will be good as a first warbird.

Thanks tyor. I am making progress with the ESM Corsair (74" wingspan). I like the look of your Aichi and would consider it as my next project. I'm thinking fixed undercarriage could be a good thing, less expense and less to worry about aye!!

Thanks for sharing the pics tyor. My NGH GF38 will probably end up in my CMP 71" BF109. Looking forward to your videos.
Best wishes and good safe flying.

got a video today. using a 16x10 3-blade prop. have tried 18x12 and 18x10 2-blades. But this 16x10 3-blase is the best so far. Think I wil try to get a biela 16x10 3-blade scala prop. got 7400rpm with this prop.

Great video thanks Tyor, amazing noise!!! Certainly had plenty of power to take-off etc. I am running mine on a 17 x 8 3-blade XOAR WWII prop at the moment, only pulling about 6000 rpm but seems o.k. Of course I haven't flown it yet as I am still building the airframe.

Hey Tyor,
did you try that Biela 16x10 3-blade yet? I am thinking of getting one for the corsair.
I have installed the engine now and test run. Looks good. Just a weight and balance and a few minor things to do and I should be able to test fly. I hope by the end of the month.

So... finally I have made a short video of the NGH GF 38 fitted to my ESM 74' Corsair. Not a proffessional video, but I hope it is o.k. It is turning a XOAR WW2 style 3-bladed prop 17x8.
I am getting 6000 rpm at the top. I will wait and try a Biela 16x10 3-blade for comparison. The model weighs 20 lbs.
Almost ready to maiden!

Hmmmnnn.... 3-blade 16x10 Biela has arrived, ordered from Australia. Looks really good, but the hub is way thicker than the XOAR. I can't fit the prop nut, washer, and spinner. I need the spinner for balance. Looks like I might have to turn the spinner flange down on a lathe. Probably have to use a different nut and washer as well so that enough prop-shaft thread is engaged in the spinner. Shame the Biela has such a thick hub. Could still work though. Will try this weekend.

My Feedback: (5)
I went out to the field today and tried to fire up the NGH 38. It would not start. Pulled the plug, clean, good spark. Fuel was getting to the carb. All batteries charged. But it would not fire. Not even a pop. I guess I will have to get the big starter motor out and see if that does the trick.

Well,,,, I maidened the Corsair today with the NGH GF 38 running a Biela 16x10 3-blade prop. It flew, but struggled to make speed on take-off. Had to nurse it into the air with care, picked up speed when gear was up and flew quite nicely scale-speed for the flight. I am concerned about the lack of power. I can only get 6000 rpm on this propellor and others are reporting 7000+. I have tuned at the top-end, but can not get any more out of this combo.
Will have to strip off the cowling and have a good look at what is going on. Have to check everything and then try some different propellors. It will fly at 6000 rpm on this propellor, but does not have enough spare power for my liking, like none to spare at all!!!
Will try to get some video of the maiden flight, probably will have to wait for next week until I can get a copy from the guy who was running a camera.
