I don't have any "hobby" gas engines, but I have weed wackers, chainsaws, outboards, etc. I've been using Quaker State mineral oil at 32:1 in everything except my outboard. That's a 120hp Johnson v4 VRO that I use Amsoil Dominator in. The VRO runs about 60:1-70:1 at low throttle and 50:1 at WOT/high throttle settings. Results are light brown plugs in the aircooled engines and oily pistons and plugs in the outboard. Lately I've been adding 6-8oz glow fuel to my lawn equipment gas can and have noted no difference in plug color (and I use all castor oil in my glow fuel). I do not run my engines to within 20rpm of absolute max so perhaps having a slightly fatter needle and a little extra oil in the mix helps. I don't believe I use the best oils on the market but it seems to be fine for my needs. I have not noticed any significant difference using synthetic oils versus mineral oils in my lawn equipment in regard to carbon or ring/cylinder wear. I should look into it just out of curiosity.

ORIGINAL: Mystik

Very good questions and I am not sure how creditable any company employee will seem to you so I will just point out some verifiable facts. Yes MYSTIK is a mature company. We have been around for a long time. We have a pretty good reputation. JT-4 Ultimate Performance is a new high tier product for Mystik and we believe for the entire market place. It is a combination of synthetic base oils and advanced additives. If you were to run a GC analysis you would find high levels of proprietary ester and clean burning, anti-scuffing PIBs. This by itself would justify the clean engine, protection claims. The high technology additives included have been extensively tested in racing sleds and motor cycles and provide the latest in 2T technology. I will try to answer any specific questions you have.

Price is of course not a direct quality indication. The world is still full of surprises.
From your extensive test, you surely have data/engine information that would convince RC operators to give your oil a try, and your sales a boost:
Pls bear in mind that our engines frquently are run extremely hot.

How well does it burn off, what about carbon formation at several mixes. (see next questions)
How much ring wear after 100 hours operation. (increase in ring gap is easy to measure)
What mix ratios are permissible. (will it allow mixing at ratios 1:20 to 1:50 as used for RC engines?)
Will it keep the cylinder wall clean, or deposit anti-scuffing agents? ( visually check:cylinder walls should be without any depostits)
What about exhaust blocking? (thickness of carbon layer)
What about muffler choking. (Muffler weight increase)

Letsee here now, tested out to a hundred hours @ 10 min per flight, maybe two-three flights a weekend. Crap! It'll take me ten years to get there!

Their chances of getting rich off me are slim to zippity do da.

TOM has no time to do sample testing. Don't ask how I know.

The WASP should post this on the forum that T.O.M. is a member of. That should be pretty informative.

I have a friend that has been flying colletive pitch helis since 1974, he bought a MA 105 the first year it came to market, the engine (G23) is still running today, so with that I would have to say for the most part tunning has much to do with it, I believe he is burn klots

what ever

Ps, maybe I should chang my nick name to What Ever Jim

Yes.
If the engine isn't tuned properly it doesn't matter what oil you use.
If the engine isn't cooled properly it doesn't matter what oil you use.

Been using the Amsoil Saber Professional 100:1 for the longest time don't see any reason to switch. It’s not that expensive and easy to find. Have not seen one dealer of yard machines, boats, cycles, cars or any other internal combustion motors offering the mystical oil brand.

Have been using Putoline MHX at 1:200. Engine survived. Nothing to be proud of though, mixing mistake. Advocate it's use at these lean limits?? Never!

my 2 cents in all this stupid oil crap is that what ever you use just mix it at 30 to 35 to 1 and use synthetic and your motor will be fine. castrol oil is nuthing but exxon stuff that they then blend. they make nuthing themselves. i hauled a bunch of truck loats of the stuff to them straight out of exxon chemical to castrol in edison new jersey. same for the 2 cyc oils. most all you arent saying anything but,,,my motor ran 3 gal through it and didnt blow up so it must be the magic oil !!!! i have never worn out a chain saw and talk about abuse !!! screem all day,,,start at 0 temps and screem for tank after tank, geeze,,,get over it and just use any good oil and dont ever try to lean out the mix . and never mistake 2 stroke oil meant for outboard motors for you aircooled engines. it is not the same stuff. the new teeny 10 cc engines should never use less than 30 to 1,,,,better to use 20 to 1 just like most all the weed wackers use. dont fall for the crap that stile or huskey or any of the outhers make this stuff, they just ourder it up and it is packeged up for them with their name on it and then you pay a high price and fall over and swooon over STILE ULTRA SUPER CUSTOM ULTRA SEVER USE MAGIC 2 CYCL SUPER OIL and its the same crap that is in everybody elses little bottles and you pay 30 bucks a gallon for crap thet coasts them 3 bucks a gallon,,,,he he

The one that "works", of course.

(See any ONE of probably a thousand posts on the subject over at least a decade of miracle oils and creation of synthetics to improve upon dinosaur squeezins')
