Default Fuel pump foaming?

I have been experiencing a lot of foaming or air pumping through my pump on my can when filling my planes. Does anyone know any tricks to preventing this? I have a felt klunk inside the can as a pick up. Should I maybe lose this? I have never seen this little item come up. It tends to take a lot longer to fill the tank as it is getting about half air. This is an electric pump.

It must be sucking air from somewhere. Was the pump rated for gas?

Check for an air leak in the suction hose above the fuel level and where it connects to the pump.

If the hose and connections are OK then the shaft seal on your pump is gone.

Well, I got in there to check some things out. I took the felt clunk apart, and it was completely clogged, so it would seem it was having a hard time sucking up the fuel from the clunk. I removed that screen that is inside the clunk , and it is working good now. I have another filter further up the line. That pump gas sure is dirty stuff. It would seem the filter screens need to be cleaned fairly often.
