I was thinking it was the later part of the 80's when he first started.

Some C&H conversions back then are hard to distinguish from Ralph Cunningham conversions.

Funny this posting is here... I have a Ralph Cunningham Poulan 60cc conversion that has run well for many years now. BUT, today after I mounted it on my TF Corsair, it wouldnt start, wouldnt even cough or sputter. So I did all the usual checks..fuel...air...spark errr no spark. Then I noticed the spark plug wire was hanging down from the ignition module. Not the spark plug boot but from inside the back casing of the modified mount.

I took it off the plane and removed the back plate. Lots of wires and stuff in there. The plug wire came out from the unit. Any thoughts how to fix this? Do I just shove the wire back in and hope it stays. (Not going to try that with a heavy warbird)

Thanks!

Contact Ralph and he'll surely get you set up. Have patience as he is trying unsuccessfully to retire, and also is sometimes gone to the various races.

How's the flying up there now Bill? Too hot down here in Tucson to fly unless you get up before the birds, and I don't like that....

it almost looks like someone handmade the piece that atttaches the magnet to the engine. its
basically a pioneer saw engine design.
i have a 80's quad 100 that was converted and it has a bracket that attaches the magnet, it looks alot
more professional, it also uses the C H ignition.

Flying is great here now.Just had our three day fly in.Weather was perfect not over 85,no wind.Thunder storm Fri evening but not serious. Will probably start getting hotter in the afternoons, maybe up to 90,95.
I do not get out early either.
