I bought the engine from Tower. They sell the replacement carb for $34.95. The photo on their web site looks shows "DLE" marking on the carb so I would call and ask - they may have not updated it.

Frank Borman, the ring guy, says you need to clean up the bottom end of Chinese engines to prevent air leaks

I believe the point with Chinese engines is that what once were problem areas aren't so much, if at all these days. While there are exceptions, for most of the major Chinese engine brands, the overall quality is quite good. Where rework was once required, probably not at all today. On my last (4) DLE engines (35, 61, 85 and 55 in the order of purchase) the bottom ends, case seals, gaskets, reed blocks, etc. were all quite good and required no modifications or rework before use. The 85 turned out to be an early production engine and had a carb problem that was easily resolved. The 61 had one of the problem ignition sensors which was also easily detected and the problem resolved. So they were not 100% without problems but the problems were minor and easily resolved. I've seen as many problems in the so called major brand engines. All my DLE engines run well with their original carb.

The Bowman rings are an excellent product and I use them whenever ring replacement is needed or when I do a major engine inspection after an engine has been in service awhile. I don't usually install one from day one as some people do though on my new 55 I did just because I had one on hand.
