Default Needle settings-- where do I start?

I got this slightly used D&B 3.7. I have a fuel pickup problem. It is not drawing into the carb. The low and high needles were only 1/2 turn out. Is this correct? What would be a good starting point? Thanks in advance for your help.

Check the diaphragms first, any stiffness means replacement..2 turns out on both is good for ANY gasser..It will run, then adjust from there....You will likely end up about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 on both, depend on prop size...Best little twin around...

Walbro recommends starting with both needle valves open 1 1/4 turns.

THANKS A TON GUYS!!!! Should have started here yesterday. Got it fired up in 5 minutes and was able to get to the field for a super test flight on my Solution X. Took no time to get it dialed in after I got it started. Very Good Day-- thanks to you fellas.
