Default US Engine 35cc Ignition question

Hello All,
I have a 35cc US Engine that I am mounting on a Sig Rascal 110. I have NO documentation and very little experience with GAS engines. I see the ignition coil and the fact the the spark plug is attached to it. It also has a post for what I imagine is some kind of kill switch. How can I overide this thing (in otherwords make a connection to start it) so that I may bench test this engine. It has what appears to be a "power" post and a ground post. I know that it needs a kill switch so that it may be turned off in an emergency, but is the switch or anything for that matter necessary in order to start the engine?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Chip

Chip,

The kill switch is a necessity for safetly. It allows you to shut the engine down. To kill the engine, the switch will be connected between the two posts you mentioned and then closed. That amounts to shorting out the two posts.

If nothing's connected to the posts, the engine's 'hot' and can fire if turned over fast enough.

Bill,
Thanks! That pretty much answers my question. I'm very thankful that people such as yourself and the companies you represent are considerate enough and business savy enough to answer this type of question.

Thanks Again!
Chip
