Default Equivilant

It would be great if there were, but I havent heard of any four stroker close to the current 100cc motors in terms of power. Possibly some of the large radial motors may come close but in terms of power to weight, if there is I would like to know also..

I think I've found just what you are looking for:
The RCS 215

215cc (13.1 cubic inch) 5 Cylinder Gas Radial Engine

It weighs in at 11 pounds and can swing a 30x 12 (Menz S) at 5600 rpm!
13.5 HP

It's a beautiful engine and looks like it's worth the $2650. You can see it at:
http://www.rcshowcase.com/rcs215.htm

When you get one, give us a full report.

WOW! thats a sweet engine....too bad it is radial. i would need to put it in a 33% h9 cap232. i dont think a radial would clear the cowl

Hey, when you own a radial that looks like that who wants to put a cowl around it. Be the first kid on your block to have a 5 cylinder radial hanging on the front of a H9 CAP 232.

All kidding aside, as far as I know, there isn't a comparable 4 stroke engine that would have the performance of a DA-100. If there were, it would probably weigh 5 pounds more and there goes the airplane performance. If you've noticed, you would rarely if ever see a 4 stroke on a dirt bike because of weight and performance. Same applies to our aircraft.

That radial sure would look good on the front of a big Sterman. If you look at my gallery, you can see a big Sterman with a 5 cyl Seidel (sp) 7.75 ci 4 stroke glow engine.

Default 215 c.c % cyl. radial

WOW!!! Thanks for turning me on to the link for RCS...I just ordered this engine last week from Stuart Mackay in England to put in the FW-190 that he sells. That is about the sweetest thing I've ever heard in all my years of modeling. I am even more psyched now then I was last week when I ordered it!
