Default Electronic ignition for a G23

I have a nice running G23 in my Goldberg Extra, but would like to have the benefit of easier starts and the low idle speeds obtained by electronic ignition. Who does such a conversion for this engine. Thanks.

C&H Ignitions did mine. Very nice job and engine runs super. They test run it to set the timing, tune it in, etc. Ridiculously easy to start now. Frankly, you just look at the engine to give it encouragement and it flips over by itself! Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration but it flip starts incredibly well. My first start was a half-hearted flip to prime it and poof, it started to run and idle away. Cool!!!

Even better than the flip starting ease and lower idle, and my main reason to do the conversion is that the engine now weighs approx 8 oz less than before, even with including the NiMH 1100 ignition battery!

Not cheap if you have them do it, this is what it cost me:

The QMS is $124.95, plus $35 labor, plus $2 JR connector (for a JR charge switch), plus $10 shipping = $171.95.

Absolutely. Ralph's is a great guy. I had to wait quite some time (6 weeks?) for mine since they were out of parts for G23's. While waiting, I contemplated having it sent from CH to Ralph (RCIGN1) to do.

I got a response from Ralph via e-mail on this, plus I've heard so much good things about the quality work he does and how he stands behind his products, I'm going to have him install one of his systems on my engine as soon as I can arrange the overseas shipping.

You won't be sorry if you deal with Ralph. I would bet you could never find a more honest person.

You are right about that statement. He changed out my G26 and it starts and runs great.
