Default Do I need a Bosch Cap?

Hi people, I have a used Brison 3.2 (Blue case) that I just purchased. I have a couple of questions. The spark plug cap is rubber with the ground wire secured to the base of the plug with an automotive type clamp. The ignition wire wire is wrapped with electrical tape from the module to the cap. Is this the standard or do I need the Bosch type cap that I'm seeing lately? If so, where do I get one and Can I install it myself? Also, Coming out of the ignition module is a short 3 wire lead going to a male 3 pin plug that plugs into a two way 3 pin female adaptor which in turn connects to a 3 pin male plug going to the sensor. This seems like alot of connectors to possibly vibrate loose. How do I secure these connectors? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ben[sm=confused.gif]

I have flown gassers for about 17 years, never had to put a Bosch cap on any of them..Zenoahs of ALL sizes, Quadras, and a few others..My radio is a 1972 ProLine AM converted to a MicroPro 8000 many years ago...The Dean's plugs usually don't come apart, but a piece of vinyl tape or heat shrink will be good insurance..
Bosch caps come from C&H....You can put it on yourself, it just screws onto the end of the spark plug wire and the ground strap is soldered to the Bosch outer shell...

I agree with RCIGN1, it is not necessary.
I put one on because I have had the ground straps break.

I should have said that most of mine had my ignition inside the mount or were not converted..The coil on a magneto engine is grounded through one of the spark coil screws, and has no ground strap..Most of the engines with a Bosch cap have a braided shield surrounding the spark plug wire and soldered to the metal shell..Only way one of those can break is if the cap falls off the spark plug, so the engine dies and the interference stops anyway....

Nobody that makes ignition uses electrical tape, must have been from the former owner...

I wonder why he wrapped the wire in electrical tape? I guess I'd better unwrap it to see if something is hiding under there![X(]
