Default Will it run hot?

I scratch build rc airboats. http://users.adelphia.net/~dadaddyro/

A friend just purchased the 46 cc Fuji, he wants to use a pusher prop on his airboat. I know nitros will run hot with a pusher prop.

I want to know if this motor will run hot and be damaged if he runs a pusher prop on it?

Default RE: Will it run hot?

Overheating is caused by poor airflow through the engine's fins. In a pusher installation, you have to make sure that air gets through the fins. You may have to make a shroud around the engine that makes sure that air goes through the fins. When the airboat's moving, a scoop should help gather air to go through the cylinder fins.
