[size=2]I Have a G45 I am trying to get it to run propperly but it will not idle with the choke wide open. I have no clue why, someone at my club said it may be becuase of a hole in the gas line So i changed the line but it had no impact. And at the moment it is starting to frustrate me [:@].

The carb is the same as a G62, bigger than it needs to be but works fine...start your adjustments 2 turns out on both needles, adjust the high first...The carb has a pulse hole that lines up with the hole in the insulator block..The black hose from the case to the block is for the pump function..You can turn the carb any way you want if you put a fitting in the back plate of the carb to connect to the black hose...fFttings are from Walbro, part #128-218..Drill the carb back plate with a #23 drill and press it in..there is a cast boss on the plate that's not drilled, that's where it goes...bennettbuilt.com has the fittings, different part number, I think his are all metal...If the hole gets too big some 5 minute JB Weld will hold the fitting in, theres only about 6 lbs pressure on it...Grind off the fitting flush inside the plate....Plug up the hole in the block to prevent any leak....

Thanks for the advise. I had it running today, and I noticed the engine only works when it is set at 3/4 - full throttle on the radio. it seems to idle at 1/2 what is wrong??

If you have the brown carb rotator block on it you may have set the throttle plate to open the wrong way..Common problem with all the Zenoah engines with the brown block... Horizon should put a better description in the instructions....With the carb on the engine look in the carb, if you see the head of the phillps screw holding the throttle plate on it's wrong.Take the nylon arm off, turn the shaft the right way, and re install the throttle arm...You WILL see the screw head of the choke plate when the choke is closed...Be sure the pulse hole in the brown block lines up with the pulse hole in the carb body...It's the one nearest the back cover held on by a screw in the middle...

I too, had a similar problem with a new G-62. When I took the insulator block off to Locktite the bolts in, I re-installed the block upside down from the pulse hole. After 2 days of frustration, and a suggestion from Ralph I took the carb off and saw my problem. Good luck; the G-45 is a great engine.............
