Ralph, is Mr. Allen for real? The story line is getting more and more like what a day time soap writer would conjure up.

Based on all the testimonials, I am ready to send my G62 w/bent crank to Ralph...is he still in business?

Maybe this is the same guy that told us there was no way he could find TDC on his engine because his engine was inverted. May he could find bottom dead center.

Ralph is not only a great person to deal with but is a real stand up guy who takes pride in his work which shows in his excellent workmanship, and offers a lifetime warranty on it which includes crash damage. It does not get much better than that, if ever.

I sent my 3W-50 to Ralph with a lot of crash damage: bent crank, broken cylinder head, broken carb block, etc.. He sent it back and you would not know it had been crashed. He works wonders, and his prices are surprisingly low. If I ever damage another gasser it will go to Ralph. I found a good way to get in touch with him was to join his engine forum and send him a PM or just post your question. He gets right back to you, unless he's out for a while racing or something.

While flying my Ziroli P40 the dowel pin in front of the wing failed causing the wing to tear away during a four point roll. The result was a fuselage which became a giant lawn dart. I sent the G62, which had a bent crank, to Ralph at RC ignitions, we got the motor back before the airframe was repaired, Ralph straightened the crankshaft, replaced the hub and test ran the engine for a Very reasonable price. When we finally did get the airframe finished (Nov 1,2008) the engine swung a 22/10 at 6900 rpm. His price for repair and quality of workmanship is one of the better values in the hobby. Kudos to Ralph!

I took four engines at the same time to Ralph last year for some research work. None of the four had been involved in an incidident that would have bent the crank. In checking various things on the engines we noted that all four had more than .004" of shaft runout. By the time he was done, which was a very short time later, the worst one had been corrected to .002" and two had been corrcted to .001". The last one was a little less than .002". Those are still among the straightest cranks I have to work with. Much better than factory standards.
