Last week, a fellow flyer crashed nose down and totaled his plane. He threw everything in the trash. I MEAN EVERYTHING!
I recovered the engine and the best I can tell it is a Zenoah G38. The only problem that I have found is that the shaft is bent. I would like to either replace or straighten the shaft. Is there any companies out there that can do this repair?
If not, then what is the method to remove the prop hub? All the screws have been removed and I cannot remove the hub from the flywheel.
Any and all responses are welcomed!

Geistware, you are one lucky dude. You should have a good engine when it's fixed and it sure won't cost near what a new one does.
Everyone I fly with takes their junk home.
I made a spanner wrench to hook into one of the holes on the front of the flywheel. I then screw the hub off. It looks like you may have a later hub design than mine but I'm sure it works the same way. You will then need a gear puller to remove the flywheel from the shaft.

I once had a G38 that I crashed and had Ralph at
rcignition.com straighten it and some other things done.
The engine was better than new when he sent it back and was quite reasonable also. This has been about three years ago so don't know what he charges now.

Bent Crankshaft
I just had Ralph straighten a G62 shaft for me. There is now no run out at full throttle. He did an outstanding job at a reasonable price.

I probably should have used a term like"wobble factor" rather than run out. Before I sent the G62 to Ralph, I ran the engine and looking from the side of the engine at the 22-10 Zinger, I noticed that the prop blades did not line up and appeared about 1/2 inch out of alignment. After Ralph straightened the shaft and using the same prop, the blades appeared to line up. This was an eyeball assement and not a scientific measurement. Sorry for any confusion my comments may have caused. I should have said"I bent it---Ralph straightened it---Good Job---Good Price"

I heard Ralph was going to be a way for a couple of weeks, but don't know for sure. If you can't get Him right away, keep trying. It will be worth it.

Hey Ralph,
Don't let this guy get to you. He's obviously a hoaxter who's trolling for trouble.
But what do we expect from a guy that starts his sentences with "i" and spells your name "ralf". :stupid:

My number is 928 (was 520) 635 2425, clearly printed on the top of the receipt..You could send the alleged crooked engine back to make it right or tell me when this happened so I can look it up in my records..I have never sent ANY engine back with more than .002 runout measured at the outside of the prop hub....
By way of comparison, a human hair ( my arm) measures .002 with my Swiss Etalon micrometer...
An eyeball that can see that well belongs in the Guiness Book of Records..
