A couple of weeks ago there was a discusion about balancing spinners, with pictures. I checked my 5 inch spinners and found it badly out of balance and proceeded to balance it, my friend also balanced his. The next day we went flying, and we both noticed considerably more vibration than before we balanced our spinners. My friend imidiatly removed the wheight and flew, I did not on the next flight my spinner broke apart in the air causing severe damage to the fuselage. We cannot figure out why after balancing the spinners they vibrated more? We would appriacate it if someone could tell us were we wenty wrong.
