Default BME 50 prop off

Hi guys, I just purchased a used patty with a BME 50 I am trying to remove the prop I have taken the prop nuts off it is now just the prop on the shaft. I was told I should be able to move the prop counter clock Wise and the engine would stop on the compression stroke but the prop should still turn. THe problem is the propeller moves easily through the compression stroke. any help would be great.

Best,
Rob

Use a strap wrench (craftsman) on the prop hub to hold it from turning. Or just use some channel lock pliers on the prop hub. I myself use the strap wrench.

Thanks

Take the spark plug out and put some nylon rope in the cylinder...

Kinda late now, but you can use a popsicle stick in the exhaust port or a piece of soft wood, ie bass, spruce, pine, etc.

Yes that was a good idea about the rope. Will that work good for thighting up a prop hub on an engine conversion?

Thanks
