DA fixing DA50 lean carburetor problem?

Wonder if DA is fixing or has fixed the DA50 too lean high end carb problem? I know you can drill out the main needle hole but it seems that DA would have a fix for their new engines so the customer does not have to do this.

with such a babe sitting on my plane, I would'nt either.
Small update.
I recently tested a few relatively large carbs on my 35cc to examine the gain in power. I found out, that not all Walbro models react the same to needle settings, and one, now obsolete, type I tested required a very rich idle jet mixture to keep the high needle within 4 turns open for best power.
Needless to say, this carb was rejected, for being totally mis-matched to the engine, and probably meant for large displacement engines.
If I look at the posts here, there is a stunning similarity in engine behaviour.

Like I have been saying for many years, a larger carb does not usually mean more power..A manufacturer would not intentionally restrict the power by using a small carb when a large one would work better...I suspect the stock carb on the DA 50 would be fine if pilots would not try to use such large props on a relatively small engine...[8D]

I have been using a 24x8 menz on mine from day one . Runs great with plenty of adjustment to run rich if needed. I suspect some engines are being run on a rich gas/oil mixture which causes a leaner fuel/air mixture. DA recomends 100 to 1 for a reason I would think. Maybe they spent much time and money researching the best combonation of carb and mixtures?

Well, I have 22x8 props (menz, MSC, NX) and they turn from 7200 to 7000 RPM on the ground. This doesn't seem like too much prop since DA recommends not going much over this RPM. I also can't seem to go to the rich side on the high needle. Isn't it possible that the selected carb worked fine at higher elevations / temperatures (i.e. AZ), but it was on the edge so that it required a fully opened high needle to get a drop in RPM. Then those of us that run at sea level at lower temps can get it just to around the peak and can't go over to the rich side? I am really thinking about drilling out my HS needle because it makes me uncomfortable to not be able to tune to the rich side on the high end.. I can't get it rich even with 100:1 amsoil.

Just switched to Amsoil 100:1 mixed at 80:1...from Lawnboy 32:1 (4gals)..with a MSC 22-8 adjusted high end to 6980..turned it back about 1/8 turn and dropped to 6860//leaned the low end 1/8 at a time until I had a smooth transition in the air..ran about 5 tanks with a new plug..After the 5th tank I checked it out and it was a nice Hershey brown color..
