Using the ignition battery as ballast weight.

I recently got my G23 engine converted to electronic ignition, and due to it's reduced weight I removed 9 ozs of lead ballast I had in the the tail of the model the engine was in. I now find that even with the Rx battery in the tail, I still need approx 3 oz of ballast in the rear to balance the model.
Can the ignition battery be placed in the tail in close proximity to the Rx battery as the required ballast weight and be connected to the engine by using a shielded wire running in the fuselage, or should I use lead.

Try it, see if you get a good ground range check, if so it will work, I know of some installationns done this way for the same reason and it works fine.
