quadra 50
i have a quadra 50, does any one know if you rotate the cylinder, do you have to rotate the piston also? if so , why? it looks exactly the same on both sides. the ring pin will run inbetween the ports iether way. any body out there that can help me?

There are two considerations. One is that the rings are usually pinned on the intake side because it is cooler and the junction will wear less then on the hot exhust side. Two is that the relief in the case that matches the cylinder transfer ports may not match the transfer ports with the cylinder rotated. In this case I modify the case to match if possable. If you don't rotate the piston, you may need a new ring(s) because it will have to reseat in a new position. It is not hard to rreverse the piston. A friend can help if needed. Many people have done this due to broken coil mounts as I recall.
