Default Surefire Bisson Loose Muffler Fix

For those of you who have had problems with your muffler coming loose here is a way to stop that from happening.

My Bisson muffler was originally held on by two 6 x 1.00 metric screws that shouldered up against a thick aluminum flange block. The modification involved inserting two 3/8" od pieces of steel tubing into the side of the muffler and new longer bolts. The split lock washer may not have been needed since I tie wired the bolts. This is the belt and suspenders principal that I use a lot.

The tubing is actually chrome-moly steel that I ordered a long time ago from Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Co. Mild steel should work fine. I used Permatex Ultra Copper on the mating surface between the muffler and the engine.

I give full credit to my friend Gremlin Castle (RCU handle) for the idea.
