I ordered a velocity stack for my US41 but upon opening the new engine discovered it came with one installed. Flared out on the end like a trumpet and the other one is straight with a beveled cut on the end. Common sense tells me the beveled one would be more efficient. Also, with the size of the GP Pitts cowl, the stack is not long enough to exit the cowl. Does it matter? Thanks folks!

Depending on your installation, the cone shaped end may be the best. IMHO, the main purpose of the stack is to prevent the air passing by the carburetor from siphoning gas from the carburetor via the intake. If you use the bevel to ram more air into the carburetor, you could effect the fuel-air ratio mix depending on airspeed.

teefly we use them insided and out of cowls only used angle cut
sometimes we have to turn it up or down for best results. type of engines were g62,g45 g38 works great to solve mid range hesitation good luck.
