Default DA 50 after Update

Just got back my DA50 which i had sent in for updates (got the new crank and carb-block mods). Note: i wasn't having any major problem, it did (only occasionally) die on the runway when taxiing if you turned - it had NEVER died in the air.

Anyway, DA's service was great. They replaced (all at no charge) piston, ring, rod, crank, carb-block, sparkplug (and maybe a few other minor items).

my question is, having a new piston and ring...do i have to go back to petroleum oil (like break-in) or can i stick with synthetic?

Thanks in advance....David S - Tampa, Fl

I have never had one rebuilt but that's what I would do. I would start all over again and go back to syn after breaking in. It is for all purposes a new engine. The rings need seating etc. I have never used syn so I might be biased. Bill

I agree with RCBill. New Ring = New Break-in

If they added new rings/piston you have to break it in all over again..

Yes, I would go back to lawn boy for 4 gallons. They are #1 is my book for model engines, that is for sure.
