Default ZDZ-60 Problem

My ZDZ 60 dies when brought back to low idle (1,600 to 1,700) from full throttle. This occurs on the ground and in the air. My friend has a ZDZ 50 & ZDZ 80 that does not have the same problem.
I'm a currently running a bali 22x10 prop (size reccomended), premium gas (reccomended), and Amzoil 100to1 synthetic. I've tried other props, sizes and manufacturers. The carb. was replaced from a bing to a walbro. (RC Showcase) and recently I had that carb rebuilt to see if the problem was on the pump side. I have replaced the spark plug (gap .025). I have checked the timing (top dead center). PLEASE HELP! ADVICE WELCOME or If anyone knows of a repair station within 200mile of Jacksonville, FL let me know, I'll make the drive.

Hi,

Try to richen the low speed needle a bit and see if it helps. Also, I don't believe RC Showcase will warranty your engine with you running 100:1 amsoil. The last I read, they want a richer oil mix. You may want to check with RC Showcase on the recommended oil and mix for ZDZ engines.

You've got a couple of good ideas already. I have a 50RV that was giving me some problems, turned out to be a weak ignition unit that was on it's way out. You said the timing was at TDC? There's supposed to be a 6mm space between the hall sensor and the trigger when the engine is at TDC, and RC Bugman is right about the Amsoil and warranty...

According to your comments, I would say that your engine suffers from overheating, that being to cause by the oil mix 100:1 ( to lean). Having made the same ones test, I returned at the base with a mixture of Amsoil, Predator mix 50:1 and you will find a great difference immediately.
