I am on my first tank at 32:1 for breakin. At factory carb settings. Engine runs great.
The front bearing has 1/16 axial play and this is the outer bearing race moving back and fourth in the crankcase casting.
Also have quite a bit of black oil coming out around the front bearing.
Is this normal ??
Thanks,
Dan

no to both - call your vender -
and there is NO factory carb setting -unless you mean recommended settings
IF they are about right - that is just luck
you must learn to adjust em

Thanks Dick,
Yes, I was referring to recommended initial settings on the carb.
It's running a tad rich right now but I don't normally start leaning out until around the second tank or so.
I figured something was not right with the bearing but wanted to be sure. None of my Fuji's or Zenoah's ever had this problem.
This is the first Evolution I have tried !

Today I noticed that when the engine is cold that the end play is gone. Only about .003.
Cranked it up again and when hot end play is 1/16. Cooled off, back to .003.
Cylinder temp has never exceeded 226 degrees.
Any further thoughts ???

Yes, it's a rebranded MVVS.
