Fuel tank setup

I am seeting a FPE 2.4 using tygon tubing and the standard size brass tubing. Do I need to solder barbs on the brass to get a secure conection?

I use the barbs....and small zip tyes both inside and out. Tygon can swell in use and any precaution is worth it to me.
