I'm looking for information about quiet mufflers/cannisters for the BME 110 Extreme. My local field has a 98db noise restriction, so I need to meet that level of noise without robbing the motor of power. My plan is to put the engine on a Great Planes CAP-580.
Is anybody running Chip Hyde's quiet cannister/muffler on BME 110? If so, how well does it work soundwise, and does it restrict the motor at all?
Anybody had any problems with this engine?
Can anybody suggest another combination that will work?
thanks in advance,
Keep 'em flyin'

The 110 is a great motor, no problems with the one I had. I have only seen one on the chip hyde cans, it seemed to perform well with them, but like a long header. Several other folks run the Pefa LL size cans with a very short header and works very well. I would go with one of the above setups if you want to run cans.

You might want to talk to Kieth with BME. I think Todd Bose tried the Hyde Quiet pipes on a 110, Kieth was telling me they made it run kind of erratic.
