Default How close can RX component get to Magneto before problems?

Building my GP Super Stearman now with G26 magneto. Almost done, prolly maiden this weekend. The RX, batt packs, and switches is about 10-11in away from the magneto. I can swap the RX to another location next which will give another 3 in away for a total of 14in from magneto. The RX will be about 1in from servos. The RX pack have to be in the 10-11in away from magneto for balancing.

I know a lot of folks using the G26 magneto for this plane. Not sure if they have done a lot of mod to shield the potential interference/noise.

Any thoughts?

It can vary from installation to installation, but your arrangement sounds okay to me, as I've never been able to have that much space between my onboard radio stuff and my G45, and so far I have never had a problem.

The smart thing to do is to position your equipment in the location that suits you best and do a range check with the antenna collapsed and with the engine off and then on.

Anything over 150' with the engine off and no more than a 10-15 % reduction in range with the engine running is good to go.
