Default 3W 75 Side induction Engine

does anybody have a 3W 75 side Induction engine? I'm thinking of putting one in my new Aeroworks Edge 540. Any comments about the Engine, or it's application to this plane are appreciated

John

Awesome engine.

I have one on a 30% Carden Extra. Mucho power. Runs great and is not really broken in yet.

Very smooth, no isolation mounts.

isolation mounts are not really a great idea, sometimes they cause more problems.

The photo is not the best but you can see the mounting method.

Looks very nice! easy access to the throttle. How about the choke? do you have a picture of the other side?

thanks

You can see the lower portion of the home made choke lever in the photo.
It can be reached from the cutout for the muffler.

What are the prop and rpm numbers? Will it really turn a 26-10?

Default Engine Mount

Jemo,

what kind of engine mount is that? I am building a 30% Carden Cap and I also have a 3w-75us I will be running on it. Why did you stand the motor off as opposed to adjusting f-1? Do you also have the mounting plate Gerhard sells? I cannot tell from the picture. I like the choke idea.

Thanks,

Jess

The engine mount is home made from 1/4" G-10 material, but it is really the same type as sold by AI.

I did adjust F!, but did not want to chance screwing up and going too far, so I used a compromise, and it worked out fine.

I don't have any rpm numbers for you, but yes it will turn a 26 X 10 and the power is fantastic.

I plan on (someday) using a 3 blade 22 X 12, I haven't tried it yet but a guy I know flies them on his 75 and likes it.

Thanks for the info, what was your finished weight? Looks like you have smoke.

The smoke, plumbing , tank & battery are installed, but did not get a pump yet.
I think the all up weight was a bit over 22 lbs, ???.
