Thanks Bob. Also what prop do you reccomend and what kind of electrical setup would be best. I've never ran gas so this is all new to me. Any help would be welcomed.

RE: Brillelli Boyz
Bob,
funny you mention that, cause since I destroyed your old Yak, I have the new one hanging in my shop - the 2.4 had a shake to it, so I have sent it back to Brison for repair. I was looking at the Yak last night thinking that a 46GT would be nice in that plane, and find something else for the 2.4 when it comes back.
Now all you guys have me thinking about spending money I should be saving.......

The 46 just *loves* a NX or Xoar 21 x 8. It lets the engine turn up pretty good, but seems to be right in sweet spot for acceleration and spool up....I sure like mine. In fact, I don't have ANY other "46" props....except a Vess 22 A that I haven't run.

Chris - a good 2.4 could be sold easily permitting you to get a NEW Brillelli 46.... and that would make your Yak even MORE outstanding. But ya gotta use good servos for all that power....

LOL Bob - the servos are fine - it was someone not getting the servo arms on tight that fluttered the ailerons. (If I had a mechanic, I'd fire him) I think the 2.4 will stay with me - but the 46 might be a nice addition.

Hello
I wanted a plane that can do IMAC and good wild 3D as well. So considering the 40cc in mind i am thinking to design a 78" wing span extra, i think it will be a perfect size, i will try build it as light weight as possible, since the reason for not using the DA 50 is simple the "PRICE" so high....
Alright i would like to hear some comments from other modellers on my paln, I have not yet started on the design but before i start i need your comments and suggestions. considering my tight budget which servos should i go for.

RE: Brillelli Boyz
Have you looked at the WH Yak..it has an 80inch wingspan (4 more inches)...might be a little too much for the 40 for what your trying to do?. A 46 would be perfect.

Here's the WH Yak:
http://www.wildharerc.com/Products/Yak/yak.htm
The 46 would be sweet on it. Tom has all but the red/yellow scheme in stock.
Also consider the EF Yak/40GT combo that Brillelli is offering. The 74" Yak kas a lot of wing and the loading wouldn't be too bad at all with the 40. For the price you get a lot of goodies too.

edit: man you're fast 3d-aholic!!

In my opinion the best two planes to get right now in the 40-50cc range is the WildHare Yak and EF Yak combo. That Brillelli special is going to save you money and time on designing your own plane.
I agree with highfly3d that there are very few good plane choices in this range if you are wanting to do wild-3d as you say...so if you do build a plane, your gonna want to market and sell it to others.
Or, you can try what I did, buy an 84-87" plane and put a Brillelli 60 in it. [8D]

RE: Brillelli Boyz
Got my vinyl logos today from http://www.badbradgraphics.com and installed on the Yak and the Extra. He can do any size, any color.... these are "samples" (but were not free, before anyone gets their pants in a twist). Brad made these for me, and has the logo file now so that he can do "custom" work with the Brillelli logo.
Personally, I think these are SWEET looking, and definitely setoff a great color scheme.

WOW, that's an A+ for me. I am in the process of triming some weight off my Ultimate at 15 and 1/2 give or take while running a 20-10 fiber . What type of weight are you pulling with your 21-8 , I may want to try it later on. Thanks

RE: Brillelli Boyz
Don't know if you're asking me about mine, but it is just over 16, with the Brillelli 46, and it pulls VERY well. Can do consecutive upline snaps, if I don't get too aggressive. It will pull out of a hover easily, but not "accelerate" out of it. It is clearly capable of any "normal" manuever, and will do knife edge Cuban 8's no sweat.
The rpm with the NX 21 x 8 right now is about 6900.....

RE: Brillelli Boyz
Phil,
I would go to a 20x8 or 21x8. I bet your thrust will pick up a bunch. 10 pitch will give it more speed, but I don't think it needs all that speed. With an 8 pitch your RPM will come up to compensate, but thrust will also come up.

highfly3D - if you are thinking of the canister or pipe for the GP Ultimate, that is not an easy modification, and would require very extensive modification of the front of the airplane. Go to the 3D forum, there's a GP Ultimate thread there, where nearly every combo that could be tried, has been reported, and none with a canister or pipe.

Mine are "custom", and aren't what Scott provides. To get some, simply go to www.BadBradGraphics.com and have Brad fix you up. He can make any colors, any sizes, good prices.
All of the ones pictured in my post are from BadBradGraphics
Will do an "assembled" view of them when the weather lets me.... been "fall" lately.

RE: Brillelli Boyz
Bob,
I understood that that the ones you have are custom and not the ones that come with the engine. [sm=shades_smile.gif] Still, its always good to have decals, even if they're "just" the ones that come with the engines.
Thanks for the heads-up about Bad Brad; looks like he does good work! However, if I want more decals, I think I will get them from a friend with a vinyl cutter. I have the original file as well, considering I made it! [sm=teeth_smile.gif]
Again, great looking models, and great finishes on them!

Hey Fernando I would give Scott a ring he is always ready to help. I heard it will help with the idle. I was thinking about getting the upgrade for mine that Brillelli offers sometime down the road. Hope this helps, Phil

Spitfire222 - Duh.... guess I'm not gonna win any "memory awards"..... Your logo design is definitely the winner, and looks great when rendered... I'm sorry I wasn't sharp enough to put that together! [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
I appreciate the comments - wish I could take credit for an ARF color-scheme, but they are getting better, aren't they?
Have some flag vinyls coming as the final finishing touches.
