In the Taurus engine thread I alluded to the fact that I had heard some info on some new gas motors on the horizon. I didn't know if I should give any details, so I didn't mention any names or specific info.....well I've been told it is ok to "leak" a little info on these engines.
First, they are from BME. The two engines I can mention are an all new 100 and 150.
Also a disclaimer: I am not in any way affilitated with BME. I came upon this info when talking with Keith at BME when I was talking to him about Taurus'. Let it be known, I am still a Taurus fan, and it will take a lot to turn me in any other direction.
They will be called the Xtreme series. The first will be a twin cylinder called the 100 Xtreme. It is 4.0 lbs bare and BME is claiming it has the most power in its class. I was told it will turn a 28x10 Mejzlik at 6400-6500 out of the box. He did tell me this is leaned out and shouldn't be run this lean until broken in.
They also have a 150 that has been designed, tested and is ready for production. There are no other details on this one.
Keith said that these engines have over a year of flow testing and design work in them for maximum perfomance and durability.
He didn't give me any dates for production, but I would guess in the March time-frame for the 100.

I just got my BME 102 in the mail. WHOOOOOPPPPPIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
This is a very cool motor and lighter that I'd even imagined. When the box came I swear I thought it must not be the box with the engine. I thought I recieved the box with the spinner, props and batteries. Much to my surprise. I like it.
