Default Gasser Mounting

I'm ready to mount my Brillelli 40 in my Super Sportster and have a question on how to go about doing this.

GP recommends a Fuji 32 for gas installation and the hardware included reflects that. There are blind nuts that are supposed to be installed in the firewall the the (Fuji) is mounted from the front. i.e. the standoffs are just a bolt pass-through with no threads and the bolt threads into the blind nuts from the front. The Brillelli standoffs are threaded on both ends, and from what I can tell, need to be mounted from the rear of the firewall. That is, the bolts pass through the firewall and pull the standoffs to it. Do I still need to install the blind nuts or just drill holes through the firewall and bolt the motor on?

Oh yeah, and which is the fuel intake and which is the static nipple on the carb? I'm sure that saying that I'm a gas newbie is pointless now... Here's some pics of the motor a little ways down the page. Is the nipple showing (on the front of the carb) the static or fuel intake?

Thanks

Edit: Man I can't type...

The instrictions have a picture that point out the gas and static lines. The curved smooth fitting is the gas, the small barbed fitting is the static line. Just run that into the fuslage hooked to nothing.

Thanks Scott! I couldn't quite make out the pic in the instructions and wanted to make sure.

no you dont use the blind nuts. Get a big fender washer and put that on the bolt on the inside. Once you get it fairly tight you will be able to just tighten the standoffs with a wrench. Then bolt the engine to teh standoffs.

Remember to use blue loctite for final assembly.

Thanks. I fly helis, too, so I'm all about locktite

Talked to a couple of guys at my club and they suggested screwing the mounting screwed into the blind nuts then pulling the blind nuts into the back of the firewall using the standoffs, essentially making the mounting screwed studs sticking out of the firewall that I could then mount the standoffs and engine.

Comments?

I like this idea because it is an ARF and there isn't a lot of room to manuver a hex wrench on the back side of the firewall.
