When the gas engine is put away for the winter what is the best way to do it?
I've been putting Stabil in the gas and ran the engine for a few minutes thinking that it might help the diaphrams in the carb.
Probably not accomplishing a thing by doing this but thought it might keep the Walbro diaphrams from drying out.
What do you guys do?

Even though it's "stored" for the winter, I'd pull it out and fire it up every couple weeks or so.
OR...
You could move south where you can fly year-round. Damn Yankees are allowed in the South IF they fly R/C.

L48, where in Indy do you fly?
All of the experts say to run the engine dry.
I am more afraid that the gaskets and valves will get hard if they remain dry.
While I do fly year round, I do not run my engines dry but make sure I have plenty of oil and stabilizer in my gas.
Back in the days of caster for gas, leaving gas in an engine caused big problems.
Not sure about our present oil chemistries.

I haven't been to the field in Danville.
I belonged to the indy club that now flys in Morristown.
I also use to visit the field behind the boys school in Plainfield
It is good to meet you.
