Default FUJI 86cc Thrust???HELP!!!!

Who might know what the static thrust on a fuji 86cc engine would be? Cant find that info anywhere, even tried calling the tech support, and they knew nothing about it. Did anyone do any tests with it. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

Mike

Here we go again. Why do you care about static thrust numbers? These numbers are not a good indicator of anything. They don't tell you how your plane will fly with that engine, and they won't help you rank engines. You could put a dozen different props on the Fuji and get a dozen different readings for static thrust. The biggest diameter prop with the lowest pitch (e.g 30x4) will give the highest static thrust readings, but that won't fly your plane very well.

To compare engines, just use the identical brand and size prop, and compare the rpm. The higher the rpm, the higher the power.....and useful thrust of the engine. For that size engine, I would look at rpm with a 26x10 prop.

Well gotta agree with the big D on this one. If your going to gear it and run a much bigger prop. Static thrust on a 26" prop is useless info. This is one time where rated HP means something. You pick your prop and adust the gears untill the engine runs at peak HP at WOT.
For what its worth mine is turning a Zinger Pro 26x10 @ 6200. You should be able to find a thrust program on the net to translate those numbers into a SWAG for thrust.

Wheee- The rated HP-- Boy - I will bet my life on those numbers .
So far - I have not seen a advertised shaft torque reading on any hobby engine ---
One English model mag contributor used /uses torque readings - but in the US --the power outputs are so skewed by advertising policy - I would not touch any of em -
As for 6200 on a Zinger Pro -in Wyoming - --Terry, - I would say that that is pretty good and not out of the ordinary for a non tuned , muffled 86cc twin/single.
That particuar prop will go faster -by quite a bit on a piped 80 single - but some guys think pipes are " cheating"(?)
One question tho - why not disagree ?
This is a discussion forum - If the info does not appeal to you , why rant?
The worst info I ever got was from people who all agreed with me .

Ya Dick:
If we all agreed, then it would be just like watching the Dinah Shore or Mike Douglas show. Now those were some memorable programs....

That's OK. I have rhino-hide. You have to be able to take it as well as give it.

Paramotor?

You gonna climb inside with the Fuji on the back....for real?

We used to have a kid in the neighborhood who thought he could fly too. Jumped off the garage wearing cardboard wings.

Make sure there is a video camera going for the Darwin awards.

Default HP

Yea Dick the HP numbers are probably a bit off, but the RPM should be about right.
With the reducer you could gear the engine to operate at its max HP, no matter what the real number is, its still max.
If a pipe helps an 80 single think what two would do on a twin If you were real crafty you could run both exhausts in to a single 80cc pipe
