I see a female RCA lead as a charger connection for the ignition battery.
I followed the installed application of the female chassic plug. The comment was as a prospect /new owner figuring out how I might easily recharge the ignition battery. Chop the female end off one of these and splice appropriate connectors on tag end to match charger.

mikenlapaz,

I don't know why you would want to splice into the RC cable just to charge the battery. You still have to run it to an off-on switch so why not use whats already there. I plan on soldering the end of the RC cable to a HD female connector that will plug into a HD off-on switch that already has a charge connector. Very simple install.

Brian Smith,

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Just keep thing simple and youl'll have less to deal with and less things that can go wrong. We're just looking to get the RC jack the quickest and shortest way to the switch so we can turn it off and on and charge it. Brian, you plan on being at the Henderson Fly-in this coming summer?

I have my Ralph converted G62 going in a Wild Hare 28% Extra 300LX. This engine should make this plane really come alive. I was thinking of putting a pilot figure in the cockpit. Anyone have this plane with a pilot that could post some pics?

Zippi, what exhaust are you running on the 62? Mine is going in an Ultimate, looking for a good exhaust match.

arobatx,

I'm using the slimline wrap around rear dump muffler. $69.95 at Chief Aircraft Inc.

Ralph, Please excuse my ignorance here but I am reading all this good stuff you are doing to the G62 but through it all, I couldn't see your website listed anywhere.
Very interested in what you can do and the prices, just don't know where to look.
So, where do I go?
Thanks in advance!

mmalone, his website www.rcignitions.com is getting a makeover at some point. Most people just PM him on here, or call. His username is RCIGN1 and his number is 928-635-2455

zippi, I think that is the muffler I will end up with as well! Is it working well for you?

arobatx,

I not sure how the Slimline rear dump muffler works as I'm still waiting for Ralph to send the stand-offs I need to mount the engine. I hear that with a rear dump you may loose a little power but the G62 has plenty to spare.

Yup, i agree...and there really isn't much else for options, other than pipes, cans...etc. I would love to save money and get one from AbellRC, but i just know that will be so loud and annoy me. The slimiline seems to be a good value, not the best at anything, but good value.

What about props guys? How have they been comparing on the 62? Xoar, Bolly, Menz, 3W, BME wood props....22x8, 22x10, 23x8, 24x8???? what are you seeing for best performance, not just RPM, but performance....quiet, loud, thrust, smoothness....pull out from hover...etc. i would love to buy one of each, but i'd have to sell a plane After breakin I will be moving to either a Biela or Mezjlik carbon prop...but for now what would you suggest?

arobatx,

I have a XOAR 22X10 prop on my G62 but not sure of the performance. Haven't ran it yet. From everything I've read the better props for performance seem to be the XOAR, NX, Bolly, etc. About what you had listed. I also run the XOAR 20X8 on my Brillelli 40cc. These props look good.

I got around to tapping the plate on the carb for the static line to the fuse. Ralph says that it is not really necessary but I'm going to use it anyway, it won’t hurt. I had to have one on my Brillelli 26cc GT to get it to run flat out in the air. This is a very easy install by tapping the hole in the carb plate with a 6-32 tap and installing a 6-32 nipple and then use red loctite to secure it. Once the red loctite dries, I use a dremel tool to grind the threads away on the inside of the plate. If you don't it will interfere with the metering process that goes on inside. I know this is nothing new to a lot of us but for someone who has never done this and is reading this post it is useful information.

The line routes the atmospheric side of the fuel regulator to air inside the fuselage rather having air in the engine cowling blowing over the vent hole.
