RE: CRRC PRO GF26I
Excuse my ignorance.....
Can this engine be mounted in any position?
(head up, down, left or right)
I'm planning on fit it in a CMPro Cessna 182 140.
I should be receiving the engine next week.
Cheers from San Antonio

Hi.
I have the same engine CRRC 26cc in Cessna 182 81" wing. All you have to do is cut out cowling on the bottom. I instaled mine with head down. Marcel. I can post some pictures if you want.

OK2FLY,
My 26 is mounted in the pusher configuration for a powered paraglider trike and it works great. I use a master airscrew 16 x 10 pusher/left-handed prop. Here's a pic.

Marcel and Anderson,
Thanks...I just finished it and have been waiting for some cooperating weather since it must be flown in low to nil winds. I did have it out for its maiden flight last weekend, but quickly found the airframe was a little heavy so I have some mods to make. Here's a couple other pics. I'll post a video clip soon.

Thanks for your replies...
I just wanted to avoid destroying the cowl.
I'll try to find the best angle so the cuts are not as bad...
Has anyone tried this engine ina CMPro Cessna 182 / 140?
Will I be the first one?
I'll keep you posted.....

If it goes up.....eventually it will come down. I just hope it's not mine.

No MCACS I have this engine in my CMPRO Cessna 182 140 and it works great. You are right it does not look very nice with cowling cut out like on mine but I just did not care much about the looks. As long as it flyies:-)))

9700RPM on a 17X6 APC prop, this prop is too small for the engine.
the engine spins a 18X6W APC (cut down to 17") at 8900 RPM.

RE: CRRC PRO GF26I
Thank you, dematel...
What size prop are you using?
Even with the cowl cut, it looks phenomenal !!!
The color of the cylinder matches the rest of the plane...
Thanks for the pics.
I'll post pics of mine when I install it.

Hi folk, I have a question for you regarding to GF26I, because I bought one of this six months ago and I seen an axial play on the prop shaft aprox 2mm, is it normal that happen after few hours of use?, mine have aronud 7 hours in total running.
I used 25:1 fuel mix with a SY prop 16x8 for breaking and now I'm using a JXF 18x6

No it should not have any play in front on the shaft. I had the same problem and I had to send it to Valley View rc for repair. They have all the parts and knowlege how to fix it. Marcel

RE: CRRC PRO GF26I
Hello, what's the difference between the CRRC GF26I and the CRRC GF26I-SP gasoline engines; I looked at the U.S.A. distributors and they only offer the CRRC GF26I gasoline engine, but neither their web sites nor the CRRC main web page tells about the difference I am asking about.
Thanks, Isaias
